Angle of Imagination Art Show (April 27, 2017 @ 6-8pm)

Nash Community College’s Advertising and Graphic Design program will be holding their 8th-annual art show. Their featured artists will demonstrate their “Angle of Imagination.” Hors D’Oeuvres will be provided by the college’s culinary program, and music will be provided by a local jazz band. The show will be held in the Brown Auditorium at Nash Community College, 522 N Old Carriage Road, Rocky Mount NC.

Teen Game Night (April 27, 2017 @ 5:30-7:30pm)

The Arts Council of Wilson’s 50th Anniversary (April 27, 2017 @ 5:30-8:30pm)

Be a part of this historic celebration of this 50th Anniversary at the Arts Council of Wilson, 124 Nash Street SE, Wilson NC. Includes live music from the Moonlight Swing Band, catering by Kitty Meares, dancing, and more. Tickets are $25 each, $40 per couple which includes drink tickets, door prize entries, and more. Money Smart Week “Estate Planning” (April 27, 2017 @ 6-7pm)

Attorney Mike Eatmon of Etheridge, Hamlett, & Murray, LLP presents Estate Planning with Q&A session. Money Smart Week is a national initiative between the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago to provide financial literacy programming to help members of your community better manage their finances. HerbFest (April 28-30, 2017)

Head to Wake Forest, North Carolina for the last weekend of this annual festival. Check out herbs, visit the vendors, and pick up plants for home. To navigate to the historic downtown area where HerbFest takes place, the suggested address is 525 S White Street, Wake Forest NC. Pancake Supper (April 28, 2017 @ 5:30-7:30pm)

Come to this fundraiser at the Oasis of Love Tabernacle, 6525 Schooners Road, Bailey NC. Enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes plus eggs, sausage, and drink for $10. Annual Charity Auction (April 28, 2017 @ 5:30pm)

This fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Zebulon includes a hospitality tent ($10), preview, and live auction with a variety of items from area businesses. Held at the Zebulon Rotary Club, W Sycamore Street, Zebulon NC. Auction preview starts at 5:30pm, with live auction beginning at 6:30pm. Entry to auction is free. Final Fridays: Westworld (April 28, 2017 @ 5:30-9pm)

Held at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, 11 W Jones Street, Raleigh NC. This month’s Final Friday film is Westworld. There will be discussion of “reality and artificial intelligence” plus Q&A with an expert. Food and refreshments available for purchase starting at 5:30pm, with movie and presentation at 7pm. Friday Night on White (April 28, 2017 @ 6-9pm)

Bye Bye Birdie Performance (April 28-30, 2017)

Garden Club Plant Sale (April 29, 2017 @ 7am-1pm)

Two Green Thumbs Garden Club of Knightdale will be hosting a Plant Sale at Northside Community Church, 621 N First Avenue, Knightdale NC. Rain or shine, a variety of plants will be available for sale.

2017 Nash County Master Gardener Plant Sale (April 29, 2017 @ 8am-noon)

The annual spring plant sale features plants grown by Nash County Master Gardeners and local nurseries. Plants, trees, shrubs, vegetables, and herbs will be for sale and Master Gardener volunteers will be on-hand to answer questions. Optionally, take part in the silent auction. Funds raised from the plant sale are used for the Nash County Arboretum and Master Gardener educational programs. Annual Bunn Fun Walk/Run (April 29, 2017 @ 9am-1pm)

This 7th-annual event is fun and helps to raise funds — and gather canned goods — for “A Blessing” Soup Kitchen in Bunn. Organized by Bunn Family Dentistry, where can donations may be dropped off. Rabies Clinic (April 29, 2017 @ 9-11am)

Foy Mart hosts a rabies clinic for cats and dogs each year. The clinic offers a rabies shot for $5. Foy Mart is located at 1329 Tant Road, in Spring Hope NC. Note that at this location, folks arrive early and start lining up. There is often a large crowd of people and their dogs and cats. Distemper or other vaccinations may be available.  Check with the vet tech at the site. Animals must be leashed or in carriers. To receive a three-year rabies, previous year tag should be presented. Foy Mart host the clinic in their large parking lot, a veterinarian’s office (Dr. Goldman, 919.494.5500) runs this rabies clinic.

2017 SPCA K9-3K Dog Walk & Woofstock (April 29, 2017 @ 9am-2pm)

Fundraiser and community event for humans and dogs, organized by the SPCA of Wake County. Held at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Pkwy, Cary NC. Tickets and details available via the SPCA Wake website.

Farming Hemp For Profit Educational Seminar (April 29, 2017 @ 9am-5pm)

Held by The Hemp University at the Hampton Inn & Suite-Raleigh/Crabtree Valley, 3920 Arrow Drive, Raleigh NC. Topics covered include growing and selling industrial hemp in NC, state regulations, Cannabidiol (CBD) oil extraction, fiber production, and much more. Speakers from across the United States come to share their knowledge and help NC’s potential industrial hemp farmers — or CBD oil and product creators — see the path ahead. Annual Preservation Trades Fair (April 29, 2017 @ 9am-4pm)

This special event offers a chance to meet and observe preservation specialists in carpentry, roofing, window repair, tools, paint, and more. There will also be presentations on architecture, cemeteries, and woodworking tools. Fee of $25 per person includes lunch. Designed for homeowners, contractors, and trades specialists. This event is part of the Edgecombe Community College “Historic Preservation Technology Program” and is being held at 2009 W Wilson Street, Tarboro NC.

Zebulon Farm Fresh Market’s “Church Choir Appreciation Day” (April 29, 2017 @ 9am-1pm)

“ZFFM” is open Saturdays from May to October 2017. This year’s location is the same: Zebulon Municipal Complex, 1003 N Arendell Avenue, Zebulon NC — just across Arendell from the Food Lion plaza. Zombie Escape at Panic Point (April 29, 2017 @ 9am-3pm)

Zombie Escape is “a 5k race through 20 obstacles, tons of mud, and of course countless zombies.” Try to survive the obstacle course without losing your “life lines” to the zombies. Car Wash & Plate Sale Fundraiser (April 29, 2017 @ 9am-3pm)

Held at AutoZone, 900 S Memorial Drive, Greenville NC. Proceeds go toward local volunteer group, volunteer group, Total Domination Car, Truck, and Bike Club, future community happening. Car wash $8, truck wash $10, and hot dog plate sale $3.
