Emma Haynes placed second in both the black and white and the student category. Pamela Andrejev won Best in Show with her photograph, Pink Bicycle.

A People’s Choice Award will be presented at the close of the show on November 19. People can vote for their favorite photograph in the show by dropping by the gallery during their regular hours 10:30am until 5pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The FCAC Gallery is on 22 S Main Street in downtown Franklinton NC.

Alice Osborn provide entertainment for the “strollers” with a program of music and songs. She also introduced the group to her newest book of poems, Heroes without Capes. Copies of the book are for sale at the gallery.

Alice said, “This was my first time at the Franklin County Arts Stroll where I was also included as the featured artist/musician. The weather outside may have been dreary, but the food, fellowship and amazing art brought such a high level of energy! I loved meeting all of the local artists/photographers and was very impressed with all of the young artists’ work. Several of the kids stayed to watch me perform and I loved having them there-art is for all ages and the FCAC does a fantastic job of giving everyone in the community a warm, colorful welcome.”

FCAC sponsors the Art Stroll every other month on the first Thursday. Their aim is to introduce the arts to the community with shows and entertainment. The next Art Stroll will be December 3. There will be a new art show with a winter theme. Story teller Gale E. Buck will be the featured entertainer. The Franklinton Christmas Parade will also take place that evening.
