Join the fun on April 16, 2016, with a video shoot and Handwritten release party. Ratio Beerworks is hosting a video shoot with the documentary film maker of Crafting A Nation, breaking out a new brew, and cranking up the music.

At noon, we will tap this year’s release of Handwritten, a Belgian Abbey White, in the taproom at Ratio Beerworks, 2920 Larimer Street, Denver CO.   Crisp and refreshing, we took a fairly classic approach with use of dried orange peel and coriander fermented with an Abbey Ale yeast.

Ratio Beerworks needs you for the video shoot!  At 8pm, we fill the brewhouse to watch Bud Bronson & The Good Timers crank out the jams as part of a video shoot to showcase how unique the Denver brewing scene is today. Traverse Image (Crafting A Nation) will be set up to capture everyone dancing, drinking craft beer and having a grand time. This shoot will be part of a national campaign to showcase the Colorado brewing scene and how it is thriving with great beer culture.

Digg Haze will be spinning punk, indie and soul during the evening before and after the band and video shoot!

Invite all your friends as this is going to be a super sweet Saturday at Ratio!

From the Ratio Beerworks website:

In many ways, Ratio started in the punk scene back in the late 90’s. We cut our teeth by touring, playing out, creating zines, and working at labels. That DIY mindset prepared us for the challenges of creating and sharing our passions on our own terms. Over the years that energy has been channeled into brewing, learning the craft in Germany and honing our skills at some of the most respected breweries in Colorado. After moving on to successful careers in brewing, marketing, and finance; we have teamed up again for our most ambitious project yet – Ratio Beerworks.

With a state of the art 20 barrel system, we will have more than enough beer to go around. And the tap room will be as eclectic as the community that it’s built to support. The scene at Ratio is all about beer, but our art and music programs will ensure all of the senses are stimulated.

Crafting A Nation is a feature length documentary and new media project by Traverse Image LLC, all about how the American craft brewers are rebuilding the economy one beer at a time. Across the US, craftsmen are brewing a quiet revolution by following their passion, boosting local economies, and making some tasty beers. It is Directed by Thomas Kolicko.

Thomas Kolicko has a Bachelors of Arts in Film from The University of Colorado Denver. Thomas got his start in film-making in the snow-sports industry. His interest in learning about film brought him to Colorado from rural New Jersey. While in school, Thomas came up with the idea for Beer Culture the Movie. After the trailer went live, he brought the production crew together to finish the film. Upon releasing Beer Culture the Movie during the summer of 2011, Thomas once again brought the production crew together to discuss taking the story national. There was a unanimous vote amongst the crew to pursue a national version. That was the beginning of Crafting A Nation.

More information on Bud Bronson & The Good Timers is on their Facebook page.
Also on-hand will be folks from the Colorado Brewers Guild.  The Colorado Brewers Guild is a 501 (c)(6) non-profit trade association that supports the work of Colorado’s craft brewers and retains advocates to work with the state legislature on behalf of Colorado’s craft brewing community.
