For craft beer and BBQ enthusiasts, this is the place to be. Arvada on Tap: A Craft Beer and BBQ Fest returns on July 23, 2016, 12-7pm. Arvada on Tap takes place at the Ralston Park Addition, located at W 64th Avenue and Simms Street, Arvada CO.

This event is produced by the Arvada Festivals Commission in partnership with Arvada-Jefferson Kiwanis, Arvada Rotary, Arvada Sunrise Rotary, and Arvada Vitality Alliance as a fundraiser supporting their community projects.

Craft beer enthusiasts will enjoy more than 30 local and regional commercial craft breweries offering pours and samples of a variety of ales, lagers, pilsners, and other unique beers. Entry fee is $5 per person, with kids 12 and under free.  This year, a VIP tent has been added — for $40, ticket-holders can sample limited edition and unique beers from ten breweries plus sample light appetizers from local restaurants in an exclusive tent from 12:30-3:30pm.

BBQ aficionados can talk to the professionals from 36 BBQ teams from across the region vying for $10,000 in prizes and bragging rights in a grilling competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.

Home brewers aren’t left out either. An amateur home brew competition is open to 100 beer entries for budding brewers to show their fermentation skills, judged by Beer Judging Certification Program (BJCP) judges.

There will be an enter-to-win drawing, featuring prizes from event sponsors including grills from Ruff’s BBQ Shop.

In addition to beer and BBQ, live music by Over the Castle, Hilltop Harvest Band, and TeleDonna will entertain throughout the day. Attendees can play yard games; shop at over 30 retail vendors selling craft foods, jewelry, apparel, brewing, and BBQ equipment; and indulge in a variety of great food from local food vendors.

Event sponsors include Ruff’s Barbeque Shoppe, N2 Publishing, Colorado Community Media, Centura Health, Re/Max Real Estate, Keating Pipeworks, 8Z Real Estate, and Sports Clips and more.
