Partnership for Children of Wayne County (PFCW) is holding its annual Born Learning Children’s Festival on June 4, 2016, 10am-2pm.

Born Learning is a free family festival for children age birth through five and their families.  Festival activities, food, and prizes are free of charge for all who attend, according to the PFCW. They shared this information about last year’s event:

In 2015, over 50 agencies, groups, and businesses attended the festival.  Each group offered an activity for families to complete together.  The purpose of the festival is to encourage and model everyday learning opportunities between families.  We had over 1,700 attendees and over 100 volunteers that provided 500+ hours of volunteer time.

Families enjoyed the park, activities, miniature train rides, snacks, a petting zoo, live entertainment and a professional story teller with costume characters.  Families were also given literature about each activity.

A similar turnout and activities are planned for 2016.

Volunteer opportunities may still be open.  Volunteer information is online here.

This free event is being held in Herman Park, 903 E Ash Street, in Goldsboro NC.
