Celebrating its 35th year, The New World Festival of the Arts will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, and Thursday, August 18, 2016, on the waterfront in downtown Manteo, North Carolina.

The New World Festival of the Arts is an annual juried art show held along the Manteo Waterfront. This public, free, outdoor event runs each day  from 10am to 5pm.

Under the sponsorship of Dare County Arts Council and the Town of Manteo, the Festival brings together local and national artists to display and sell their creative works.

According to the Dare County Arts Council, the festival originated as an event sponsored by the Town of Manteo and funded by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council. It was originally co-chaired by Edward Greene and the late Claire Grieves. Greene assumed full leadership until passing it on to the Dare County Arts Council three years ago.
