The Industrial Hemp Commission will host a public meeting to review and approve applications received to grow industrial hemp, and to begin the permanent rulemaking process.

The meeting is Wednesday, March 29, 2017, starting at 12:30pm, in the Martin Building, NC State Fairgrounds, 1025 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh NC.

The NC General Assembly passed Senate Bill 313 in 2015, allowing the creation of the Industrial Hemp Commission to develop the rules and licensing structure necessary to stay within federal laws. The Industrial Hemp Commission adopted temporary rules in February 2017, setting up the application requirements and process.

For meeting questions, contact Lori Pfister at 919.707.3236.

The North Carolina Industrial Hemp Commission’s “Pilot Program” information is online at www.ncagr.gov/hemp.
