Free Small Business Seminars at NashCC in May 2017

A reminder that Nash Community College (NashCC) offers free Small Business Seminars throughout the year, with several coming up this Spring.

The seminars listed below are held at the community college’s Small Business Center, 522 N Old Carriage Road, Rocky Mount, North Carolina. To pre-register for free seminars, visit www.nashcc.edu/sbc to check out the “SBC Course Schedule and Registration” and choose the seminar for which you’d like to register.

Free workshops at the NashCC and at other NC community colleges cover topics including business start-up, food truck/catering business basics, nonprofit management, accounting, credit, and loans/grant-writing. The online SBC Course Schedule allows search by location, topic, or date.

Bookkeeping & Taxes for Small Business

May 23, 2017 @  6-9pm

Held in the Con. Ed. & Public Services Building, Room 8255.

Do you know your product or service upside down and backwards, but the numbers just drive you up a wall?  This seminar will help you understand the difference between cash basis and accrual basis of accounting and single versus double entry bookkeeping.  We’ll talk about calculating and recording payroll taxes and sales tax and you’ll get hands-on experience in preparing financial statements, including cash flow, income and expense statements, and balance sheets.
