By Maggie Bailey, We Plant it Forward

We Plant It Forward will be stationed out in front of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences giving out tree seedlings on March 11, 2017, 9am-4pm.

People who have received trees from years past report that their trees are thriving. Our tree seedlings come from the North Carolina Forest Service Nursery. We Plant It Forward volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions people have about planting trees. Trees provide many benefits to the community include providing shade, producing oxygen, capturing carbon, and gracing us with beauty.

The NC Museum of Natural Sciences’ Reptile and Amphibian Day is dedicated to exploring the crawlers, hoppers and slitherers of the animal world. This year’s theme is Sea Turtles (see here).

The NC Museum of Natural Sciences, 11 W Jones Street, in Raleigh NC. NC Museum of Natural Sciences is a high-performing nexus of research, collections, living collections, exhibitions and digital media, school and lifelong education, community engagement, and a regional network.

We Plant It Forward is a program of the Agni Institute, a scientific educational non-profit organization that aims to build an open community network of people who will make tree planting an everyday practice. We Plant It Forward strives to nurture a way of life that moves communities from protecting and restoring the natural environment to nurturing a thriving natural environment. Services include giving away tree seedlings, educating the community about the benefits of trees and tree planting, showing people how easy it is to plant and nurture trees.
