It’s carnival time again in Knightdale, North Carolina! The Knightdale Police Department (KPD) Spring Carnival will run from Thursday, March 29, 2018 through Sunday, April 8, 2018.

Carnival hours this year, weather permitting, are:

  • Monday-Thursday:  5-10pm
  • Friday: 5-11pm
  • Saturday:  noon-11pm
  • Sunday:  1-11pm*

Admission to the carnival is free. For those who want to ride the amusement park rides, tickets/wristbands will be sold on-site. Single-day (all day) ride wristbands are $25 per person again for 2018. Tickets will also be on sale individually and in sheets.

For everyone, the carnival will offer treats for sale — cotton candy, funnel cakes, hot foods, cold drinks, and more — plus a midway. Plan for a fun time outdoors with family and friends at this Spring fundraiser.

There is plenty of free parking, as the carnival is set up inside the Midtown Commons plaza — which offers acres of parking spaces. For navigation, the plaza address is 200 Hinton Oaks Boulevard, Knightdale NC. You’ll likely be able to see the rides from a few blocks away — it’s hard to miss!

Each year, KPD organizes this Spring Carnival as a fundraiser for Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC). The carnival raises over $17,000 annually for SONC.

KPD’s Captain Tracy Solomon has served as the department’s Special Olympics Coordinator for the past seven years, and the carnival fundraiser has been a fixture in town for over 20 years.

Visit the Knightdale Police Department Facebook page, for 2018 carnival updates or weather delays.

Special Olympics North Carolina is online at SONC.net.

The Town of Knightdale is located in eastern Wake County, about 15-minutes east of Raleigh NC.  Recently, Knightdale made the “Safest Cities in North Carolina 2018” list.

Carnival rides and midway are set up by Powers & Thomas, a Wilmington-based amusements company.  More about the company is online at powersthomas.com and the Powers & Thomas Midway Entertainment Facebook page,

Ed. Note: Sunday starting time adjusted from noon to 1pm, based on data from Powers & Thomas. Wristband price added.
