Tucka, Pokey Bear, Bigg Rob, Calvin Richardson, Karen Wolfe, and Lenny Williams is set to light up the Rocky Mount Event Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina

Nu Planet Entertainment will be hosting the Kings of Southern Soul Concert with great Southern Soul Blues and Soulful R&B Music.  The concert will take place Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 7:30pm, at the Rocky Mount Event Center.  Doors opens 6pm.

Tucka, King of Swing is well known for his phenomenal music and he is ready to mesmerize everyone with his wonderful reminiscent of the R&B sound of the 70s and 80s.  Other great musicians like Pokey Bear, Bigg Rob, Calvin Richardson, Karen Wolfe, and Lenny Williams will bring in their hottest hits to the Rocky Mount Event Center. This one-of-a-kind concert is sure to make you move and groove all night!

Notable Host Hilarious Comedian Les Long will bring laughter to the Concert & Annie B will entertain the crowd and keep them energized all night.  Disk Jockeys like DJ Heavy, DJ Adam T, DJ Young Soul, DJ Fat Cat, and DJ Star Child will be on the mix table playing different kinds of hit jams. It will be a memorable night.

About the Artists

Tucka AKA King of Swing

Tucka is an outstanding artist who specializes in a reminiscent of the R&B sound of the 70s and 80s. His sound was specifically inspired by big artists like Barry White and Sam Cooke. He has released several hits jams including Forever Swing, Work It Out, Book of Love, and Don’t Make Me Beg.

Pokey Bear 

Pokey Bear is the performing name for Houston-born Wardell Brown, shifted from years as a rapper with DJ Screw to Southern soul and rhythm-and-blues. He has been able to pull a huge fanbase with his hit songs like “Good Foot,” “They Call Me Pokey,” “Excuse Me” and “My Side Piece.”

Bigg Rob

Bigg Robb is a high-spirited, self-sustaining artist who embraces Midwest funk, modern blues, contemporary gospel, and Southern soul. The Ohio native played with the band Zapp early in his career. Bigg Robb has written, produced, and performed a couple of good songs like Family Reunion Song w Shirley Murdock, Good Lovin Will Make U Cry w Carl Marshall/Special/Sure2B and The Bigg Woman Song.

Calvin Richardson

Calvin Richardson is a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter and R&B recording artist. He is well-known with the nickname “Prince of Soul.” He has released several hit songs including More Than a Woman, You’re So Amazing, Fire in the Attic, Make Friends with Love, Sexy Love, Love Has Finally, Come at Last, Harry Hippie and Caught My Eye.

Karen Wolfe

Karen Wolfe began her professional musical career as a member of the gospel group Soul Unlimited. She made her name as a Southern blues-soul singer through a series of albums in the 2000s and 2010s. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas These are some of her songs: Telling it Like it is, That Chick ain’t Me and Man Enough.

Lenny Williams

Lenny is a Grammy-nominated American singer & songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist for the soul/funk group Tower of Power in the early 1970s. As a solo artist, Williams made several hit recordings, including 1978’s “Cause I Love You” and 1977’s “Choosing You”.
