The Max G. Creech Selma Historical Museum is proud to announce its Fourth Annual Juneteenth celebration Saturday, June 25, 2022.
“This year our museum cordially invites all of our local Johnston county families, groups, students and history lovers to our Fourth Annual Juneteenth event,” states Eric Jackson, Education and Projects Coordinator for the Selma Historical Museum.
June 25th will be the Juneteenth Celebration beginning at 11:00am. This will be a program looking at the history and meaning of “Juneteenth” a holiday which celebrates the announcement of the ending of slavery in Texas in 1865. The event will be held in the museum, 104 West Anderson Street, Selma, North Carolina.
Jackson adds, “There will be refreshments, door prizes and fellowship for all.”
The Museum is open Saturdays from 10am-noon. Private Tours and Special Group Tours are available upon request
