Two students stayed up late with friends and didn’t study for the upcoming test. Waking up the next morning, they were worried and made a plan to go to class late and make up a story.
They went to the class after the other students had finished the big test. The two students apologized to the professor for missing the test, and told him that they had a flat tire on the way. As a result, they said, they had missed the test.
The instructor agreed they could make up the test the next day. They were relieved, and studied hard that evening.
The next day, the instructor placed them in separate rooms and gave them the test. Each student quickly answered the first problem worth 5 points. Both were confident, thinking this was going to be easy since they had studied all night.
Then they turned the page. On the second page was written:
