Do you feel like you could use a hug? How about a hug that connects people across the globe? On Monday, March 26, 2018, British artist Stuart Semple is inviting the public to take part in a “Hug Huddle” to be held simultaneously in Denver, Colorado and London, UK.
Join the huddle in either city “to share a simultaneous moment of connection.” The locations are:
- The Galleria, Denver Performing Arts Complex, 1400 Curtis Street, Denver CO, USA — 10:30-11:30am
- Potters Fields Park, Tower Bridge Road, London, UK — 5:30-6:30pm
Participation is free at both locations. Those who take part will be asked to hug another participant in their location as part of this living art piece. In a time of great division across the world, the timing is good for this moment of unity.
Semple, whose artwork “Happy City: Art for the People” will launch in Denver on May 18, 2018, will lead the hug in London at Potters Fields Park.
The Denver Theatre District will lead the hug in Denver at The Galleria. For the “Hug Huddle” notice, and more information on “Happy City: Art for the People”, see here.
For those too far away to take part, there will be a live feed available online. (Ed. Note: Links will be shared once released.)
