Wendell Business Expands with New Rolling Restaurant

By Kay Whatley, Editor

Brown Bag Bagels opened May 2015 in Wendell NC. Their storefront serves its customers freshly baked bagels, cream cheese, plus coffee, sodas, juices, and sweet treats.

Run by husband and wife owners, Norm and Cindy Fournier, with help from their children, Sean and Caleb, Brown Bag Bagels doesn’t just serve the community; they are community members. The family of entrepreneurs is excited to be able to serve different crowds through two options — their Wendell bakery and soon-to-be-rolling food truck.

Since Brown Bag Bagels is classified as a “bakery” by the USDA, the storefront offers a set menu of bagels and drinks. They offer more — including sandwiches and specialty cream cheeses — from their food truck, which is classified as a “restaurant” under FDA regulations.

Upcoming Food Truck dates and locations include:

  • Oak City Brewing Company, 616 N 1st Avenue, Knightdale NC on February 28, 2016, 2-6pm.
  • The ProTown BMX stunt team will be in downtown Wendell on March 19, 2016, (**UPDATE-Rescheduled to April 2, 2016) and the Brown Bag Bagels’ Food Truck will be there! (The store will also be open.)

Of course, the shop is easy to find, downtown at 4 N Main Street in Wendell NC. Brown Bag Bagels is open Wednesday through Saturday, 7am-1pm. Stop by to pick up a meal, or call 919.366.6087 to order ahead.
