The Bailey Chamber of Commerce in Bailey NC (Nash County), has prepared the kids for back-to-school and is now focusing on December holiday events. Applications are being accepted now for Christmas Parade entries and Christmas Bazaar vendors.

The Bailey Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Bailey are uniting for the Bailey Starlight Christmas. This includes a Christmas Parade — with Grand Marshalls Denny and Evelyn Liles — on December 5, 2pm.

The Christmas Tree Lighting is December 4, 2016, at 6:30pm to kickoff the holiday season. Music is being provided by the Bailey Elementary Singers, the Southern Nash High School Chorus, and the Bailey Baptist Church Youth Choir.

Also on Friday, December 4, 2016 10am-8pm, and continuing on Saturday, December 5, 2016, 10am-5pm, is the Bailey Christmas Bazaar. Get a jump on your holiday shopping with local artisans and vendors including a Christmas tree seller. Head down to 6251 Main Street in Bailey NC.

To find out more about becoming a vendor or joining the parade, the Bailey Chamber is taking applications now. For vendors, contact the Chamber at 252.236.6270. For parade entry, contact Mike Davis at 252.236.5770 or email.

To help cover Christmas Parade costs the Chamber is holding a raffle. Adults 18 and older may purchase a $5 raffle ticket to enter the drawing, which will be held on December 2, 2016, at 6pm, during the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. The raffle prize is a Henry “Evil Roy” Edition 22LR (long rifle). Transfer to the winner will be handled by Mustang Country Gunworks of Bailey NC. For more information or tickets contact the Bailey Chamber of Commerce office at 252.235.6270.

For its Back-to-School event, the Bailey Chamber coordinated school supplies collection. Local businesses and community members donated supplies, and Chamber representatives delivered them to the 31 teachers at Bailey Elementary — with each teacher receiving a bag of supplies that they may use to help the children of the families who are unable to purchase needed supplies.

The Chamber is also organizing a November event — the Miss Bailey Pageant. The deadline to enter is October 8, 2016. “Miss” contestants may sign up for their age group — ranging from 1 year to 19 years — and must live in Nash or Wilson County to be elligible. There is a $75 entry fee. This annual event crowns one teen as Miss Bailey, with the pageant scheduled for November 12, 2016, at 6:30pm. This pageant is held at Southern Nash High School, lodated at 6446 Southern Nash High Road, Bailey NC.

Details and applications for Chamber events are available at www.baileychamber.org.
