Acrobats, a new exhibit, and live music are just three of the many reasons to visit the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences for “First Friday”, taking place February 2, 2018, from 6pm to 9pm.
Kenya Safari Acrobats, a favorite last year during the First Friday series, return for the February 2 First Friday. Says Sheila Long, recreation supervisor at the Imperial Centre, “…the Imperial Centre is excited for their return. Their wonderful energy and dazzling performance will be sure to entertain everyone.”
The Children’s Museum and Science Center’s latest interactive exhibit, Dinosaur Revolution, will be open.
Denver Nixon will perform in the Maria V. Howard Arts Center.
The February event also features clay and printmaking demonstrations, artist Karne Healy, crafts for children, a puppet show, wildlife rehabbers, and a local food truck vendor, along with available planetarium and laser shows.
Imperial Centre is located at 270 Gay Street, Rocky Mount NC.
NOTE: At the nearby Booker T. Theatre (170 E Thomas Street, Rocky Mount NC), the Twin Counties Young Professionals (YoPro) will host their monthly gathering on the same date, February 2, 2018, 6-8pm. This month, the group is holding a guided painting party, including coffee and snacks, called Brews and Brushes. Participants must be 18 years of age and older.
While admission is free to the Imperial Centre for First Friday, there is a $15 per person fee at the door for the YoPro Booker T. Theatre event.
First Friday runs through May:
