East Regional Library Offers Events for People of All Ages

Below are just a few of the programs taking place at East Regional Library, 946 Steeple Square Court, in Knightdale NC. Events are divided by age, including adults, and children from toddler through teen.

Adult Services

  • I’ve Graduated, Now What? There’s a Book for That!
    March 3, 2016 @ 6-7pm
    Recent or almost graduates are invited to come and discover books that will help them in their first professional job search.
  • Classic Movies at the Library: The Thin Man
    March 5, 2016 @ 2-4pm
    Watch the classic 1934 film starring William Powell and Myrna Loy based on Dashiell Hammett’s novel.  Nick and Nora Charles are Hammett’s most enchanting creations, a rich, glamorous couple who solve homicides in between wisecracks and martinis. The movie is 1 hour and 33 minutes with a short discussion afterwards.
  • Write It! Mystery Novels
    March 6, 2016 @ 2:30-3:30pm
    Learn from the experts about writing the next great Mystery novel.  Eryk Pruitt will discuss Telling a Story through Dialogue and Narration. Registration required.
  • Feng Shui: The Art of Room Design
    March 8, 2016 @ 7-8pm

    Meet talented mystery writers from the Triangle and across North Carolina! The East Regional Library welcomes Lisa Carter, Michael Mayo, and Sarah Shaber. The authors will discuss their novels, writing style, characters and more. Q&A to follow discussion. Registration requested.
  • Explore Film Noir
    March 21, 2016 @ 7-8pm
    Film Noir is more than dark lit alleys and femme fatales. Learn more about the cinematic genre inspired by American hard-boiled crime novels by attending lectures by local film scholars or viewing and discussing PBS’ American Cinema: Film Noir documentary.
  • Deciphering Crime: How To Solve A Mystery
    March 30, 2016 @ 7-8pm
    Learn about the many facets of crime solving, from forensic photography to eyewitness testimony and what the future of crime might look like. Registration requested.
