Manning Brothers General Merchandise, a hardware and farm supply store in Middlesex, North Carolina, has occupied the same building for over 100 years. Since 2010, a mural has adorned the building’s side, depicting a farmer and mule in a tobacco field.

Drive to 10237 S Nash Street, Middlesex NC, park in the large lot next to Manning Brothers, and the mural is easy to spot.

Hanging inside the hardware/farm store is a painting of the farmer and mule that served as the model for the mural’s painter, who signed “Cortés 5/10”.

While in the store, pick up any hardware, plants, seed, or supplies needed. They have a wide variety of goods.
