Annual Nashville Blooming Festival Held Mother’s Day Weekend Each Year

By Kay Whatley, Editor

The 21st Annual Nashville Blooming Festival is set for May 12-13, 2017. This big event takes over downtown Nashville, North Carolina, along East/West Washington Street, over several blocks around the courthouse.

This year on May 11, 2017, a kick-off event is planned at Nash Arts Center, 100 East Washington Street, Nashville NC. The kick-off will feature live entertainment. Note that an artist reception is being held on May 13 (Saturday) at Nash Arts, though it is an unofficial part of the festival.

The Nashville Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the festival, has set the entertainment line-up and is planning the parade, vendor set up, and more.

This year’s Nashville Blooming Festival entertainers include the Liquid Pleasure Band, East Coast Rhythm & Blues Band, and the Pizazz Band.

The 2016 festival included the festival and parade, craft and food vendors, the Mother of the Year award, and a display of decorative flags purchased by individuals in the name of their loved ones.

Vendors and sponsors may sign up through the Chamber. For details, contact Jo Anne Cooper, Secretary of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, via email.

The festival website is nashvillencchamber.org/blooming-festival, and while this web page is currently being updated, links on the bottom of the web page lead to 2017 festival forms.
