Public Input Requested by Rocky Mount on City’s New Brand

The city of Rocky Mount will soon implement a new brand and a new tagline. Residents and travelers may have already noticed the logo, with the letters RM in blue and encased in a circle, on billboards and in newspaper advertisements for the Rocky Mount Event Center. That’s because the city of Rocky Mount has adopted the same brand as the Rocky Mount Event Center.

The two entities will also utilize the same tagline: “The Center of It All,” describing Rocky Mount’s central location, its position as the center of a national trend in sports tourism, and the center of a transformation happening in downtown Rocky Mount — evident in the building of the Event Center and the investment downtown.

While the Rocky Mount Event Center has already started use of the new logo, the city of Rocky Mount would like for citizens to participate in a survey, indicating the city’s strengths, weaknesses, unique characteristics and more.

Said Tameka Kenan-Norman, chief Communications and Marketing officer for the city of Rocky Mount:

“This survey will help the city of Rocky Mount to assess citizens’ genuine thoughts and feelings about our areas of improvement and our amenities. The positive message we receive from the public will be included in advertisements focused on our new brand. Any messages we obtain from the public about necessary improvements will be our guide in ensuring a better experience for our citizens, and guaranteeing that we stand by our brand. After all, a brand is more than a logo. It’s who you are, who you want to be and what people perceive you to be.”

The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and is located at www.surveymonkey.com/r/BBX222T. Surveys must be completed by July 12, 2018.
