The Nashville NC Chamber of Commerce has issued a “Call for Volunteers” for the annual Blooming Festival coming up May 5-7, 2016.

According to the announcement by Jo Anne Cooper, help is needed with the Chamber tent, train rides, the parade, and the golf cart shuttle. If you would like to volunteer, contact the Chamber via email or call contacts listed.

Volunteers in the Chamber tent will be selling Blooming Festival t-shirts, passing out membership applications, answering festival questions, and serving as general ambassadors to festival go-ers. Times and dates for which volunteers are needed include:

  • May 6 — three volunteers needed for setup and general help, 5:45-8pm
  • May 7 — two people needed for each shift including end-of-day breakdown: 8:45-11am,  11am-1pm,  1pm-3pm,  and 3pm-5pm.

During the Blooming Festival, there will be train rides!  Volunteers are needed to collect train fees and assist people into or out of the train.

  • May 7 — two volunteers are needed for each shift on the train:  1-2pm,  2-3pm, and 3-4pm

The Blooming Festival parade is Saturday (May 7, 2016), and assistance is needed to help with this important part of the Blooming Festival.  There are a variety of duties for which volunteers are needed.

During the Saturday parade, a golf cart shuttle service will be helping move people from the festival area to the parade area. Two volunteers are needed for 10am to 11am.

If you can help the Chamber as a volunteer, call Jill Boone at 252.813.5398.  The festival will be here in just a few weeks, and volunteers need to sign up as soon as possible to ensure all needs are covered before the festival kicks off — Mother’s Day weekend, as always.
