Wake Forest CROP Hunger Walk to Raise Funds for Tri-Area Ministry

By Kay Whatley, Editor

The 2017 Wake Forest CROP Hunger Walk is Sunday, September 24, 2017, beginning with sign-in at 2pm. Walkers are signing up for the Wake Forest NC walk now via this event page.

The September 24 walk will begin at the Wake Forest Historical Museum, 414 N Main Street, Wake Forest NC. The route will take walkers along sidewalks through beautiful historic areas in Wake Forest and along part of the seminary’s campus. Total distance is close to 1-1/2 miles.

All walkers are asked to bring non-perishable food on the day of the event to donate directly to the Tri-Area Ministry (TAM) food pantry. Additionally, 25% of funds raised by the Wake Forest CROP Hunger Walk will go to TAM — a food pantry right in Wake Forest. Remaining funds go to the walk organizers, Church World Services, to support their hunger relief, disaster relief, and other missions across the nation and world.

For more information on the Wake Forest event, contact Stephen Barrington at 919.453.7034 or via email, or Maggie Andersen at 919.605.7436.

Tri-Area Ministry food pantry, located at 149 E Holding Avenue in Wake Forest, is a non-denominational, volunteer-run nonprofit with a mission to provide food to eligible clients in Wake Forest, Rolesville, and Youngsville NC. In addition to benefiting from the CROP Hunger Walk, TAM benefits from other local events including “Faster than a Pastor” (September 9, 2017) and Feis in the Forest (September 23, 2017).
