Wake Forest, NC: First-ever “Unity in the Community” Set for Nov. 9

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department and the Northeast Community Coalition (NECC) are partnering to offer Wake Forest residents an afternoon of family-friendly fun and share useful information during Unity in the Community on Saturday, November 9, 2019, noon-2pm.

Free and open to everyone, the inaugural event will take place both inside and outside the Alston-Massenburg Center, 416 N Taylor Street, Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Featuring free food, music and fun, Unity in the Community will also present several local churches and community organizations interacting with residents and sharing information about resources and services they offer.

Churches scheduled to participate on November 9 include St. John’s Episcopal Church, Olive Branch Baptist Church, Wake Forest United Methodist Church, Friendship Chapel Baptist Church, Wake Forest Baptist Church and Church of God of Prophecy of Wake Forest. Meanwhile, participating local organizations include Dress for Success, Smart Start, Temple Vitality, Fundamental IQ Basketball, Northern Wake Regional Center, Northeast Community Coalition, and Single Women with Children, along with the Wake Forest Police and Fire Departments.

Wake Forest residents from all walks of life are invited to enjoy a day of food, fun and family entertainment and learn about the array of resources available in our community.
