Franklin County Arts Council’s Writers’ Guild invites the public to attend the Launch Party for their seventh edition of County Lines: A Literary Journal. The party will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019, 2-4pm, in Louisburg, North Carolina.
The literary journal is a compilation of works by writers and artists from across North and South Carolina. There will be readings from County Lines, refreshments and book sales.
All are welcome to attend the launch party, which will be in Building Four at Vance Granville Community College’s Louisburg campus, 8100 NC-56, Louisburg, NC.
Winners of the Carolina Prize Contest for Writing, sponsored by Franklin County Arts Council, will be recognized. The contest winners are: Poetry Winner: “Aimless Odyssey” by Alice Pettyjohn , Honorable mentions “Conversation with Bob” by Joyce Compton Brown, and “Death Watch” by Jackie Dove-Miller. Prose Winner: “Crabapples from Heaven” by Coleen Arnold, Honorable Mentions “Also Called April May” by Hannah Kienow, and “Silvertone” Les Brown Winner of cover art contest – Donna Campbell Smith.
Winners of the DD’s Starving Author contest sponsored by Franklin County Arts Council and an anonymous donor will also be recognized. Winners are 1st Place – Ashley Memory for her short story, Golden Delicious; 2nd Place – Leslin Carlin for End of Times in the Santa Susanna Pass; and 3rd Place – Yong Takahashi for Full.
