Boulder Colorado Airport Hanger Becomes Rick’s Cafe as Attendees Dress for the Decade

The 8th Annual 1940’s WWII Era Ball and destination event will transport two-thousand plus guests back to the 1940’s through music, costumes, a pin-up girl contest, food, drinks, and dancing. The annual sell-out event raises money for the Wounded Warriors Project, the Spirit of Flight Center Colorado, and the Audie Murphy Museum.

A USO-style event, the 1940’s WWII Ball will feature musical acts from Frank Sinatra, and the Andrews’ Sisters impersonators, plus comedian Bob Hope. Guests have the opportunity to mingle and dance among 1940’s classic cars, WWII planes, military vehicles, and reenactors.

The Boulder Airport hangar will be transformed into Casablanca’s Rick’s Café American for the event with belly dancers, Sam, Rick and roulette tables. The address for navigation is Boulder Airport, 3393 Airport Road, in Boulder CO.

Be sure to dress for the occasion and wear what you — or your grandparents — might have worn back in those days. The Ball offers a chance to dance through the night in WWII era garb. Or, ladies, be daring and enter the Pin-up Girl Contest.  Vintage party dresses — or modern attire with era-like cut and accessories — or military uniforms and 1940’s suits and accessories are strongly recommended. Don’t be a fuddy-duddy; dress the part!

This year, for the first time, Ball-goers have the opportunity to participate in the full “Weekender Package.”  If you can’t get enough of the 1940’s Era, then extend your weekend from Friday night through Sunday morning’s hangover brunch.  The Weekender Package will be hosted at the Hotel Boulderado.
