Franklin County Arts Council’s August Artist of the Month: Jackie Dove-Miller

Jackie Dove-Miller is a poet, playwright, photographer, workshop facilitator, author, and 2013 Co-Artist of the Year.  Her most recent publication is her memoir, Breathing New Air: A Spiritual Transformation through Divorce.

Meet the artist at the Franklin County Arts Council’s August Artist Open House to view photographs by Dove-Miller, and where she will be signing copies of Breathing New Air: A Spiritual Transformation through Divorce. Then, plan to attend her poetry workshop at FCAC. Schedule:

  • August 1-31, 2021 — Artist’s photographs will be on display at the FCAC Gallery on the Hill during regular business hours.
  • August 21 @ 11:30am — FCAC Artist of the Month Open House/Book Signing at the gallery.
  • August 28 @ 11am-1:30pm — Poetry Workshop, Speaking to the Poet Within.
    Register for this workshop in-advance via www.fcacarts.org or call the gallery at 919.497.6910. The workshop is limited to 8 participants, and will be held in-person at the gallery. Fee is $35 for FCAC members, or $45 for non-members.

The Gallery on the Hill is located at 99 S Bickett Blvd, Louisburg, North Carolina.  The gallery is open Thursdays and Fridays (noon-4pm) and Saturdays (11am-3pm).

Jackie Dove-Miller is a 1969 graduate of Savannah High School in Grifton, NC, but now lives in Franklin County, NC.   She earned her BA from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC and her MA from NC State University in Raleigh, NC.
