Lauren and Brooke DeLeary of LoveCollide are featured in God’s Not Dead 2 Film

Sisters Lauren and Brooke DeLeary of the Christian Pop/Rock Duo LoveCollide, are featured in the move God’s Not Dead 2 which was released April 1, 2016 in movie theaters across the nation.

After the success of the first movie, God’s Not Dead, Executive Producer Troy Duhon recognized the need for millennials to be equipped to own, share and defend their faith. He created a music tour called, the Millennial Tour which consist of millennial age artists and video broadcast of Dr. Rice Broocks, author of the book God’s Not Dead.

Dr. Broocks teaches bite size nuggets of apologetics between each artist act who accentuate his teaching with music and their message of defending their faith. “Nobody can reach a generation like their own peers,” says Mr. Duhon. The tour hit 5 continental cities this month and will be on 4 Hawaiian Islands in April 2016. When casting the second movie, Duhon wanted a few of the musicians from the tour to be featured in God’s Not Dead 2. This sequel was released nationwide on April 1, 2016, and is in many NC theaters.

Lauren and Brooke are seen throughout the movie in classroom and picketing scenes. Brooke, Lauren and lead actress Hayley Orrantia playing the role of Brooke Thawley, are the only three individuals on microphones in premiere attendees favorite scene of students serenading teacher Grace Wesley — played by Melissa Joan Hart.  Brooke DeLeary starts the famous hymn, How Great Thou Art, and fellow students join in.

Lauren and Brooke are based in Nashville TN but their hometown is Hickory NC. Their group LoveCollide’s CD Release Concert on going to be held on May 1, 2016, at Harvest Bible Chapel, 909 US Hwy 70 SW, in Hickory NC.

 

LoveCollide is lead by the sister duo. Lauren and Brooke DeLeary co-lead vocals. Lauren is on bass and keys, Brooke is on guitars and keys, and Adam Budnick — originally from Minneapolis MN — is on drums. LoveCollide released their self-titled debut album to rave industry reviews in April 2014 and a Christmas EP November 2015.  Coming up on April 14, 2016, the sisters’ musical group LoveCollide will be announcing details of their next big project RESONATE, which includes two separate album releases.

Lauren and Brooke describe themselves as “Southern girls at heart, but our heritage is based in tribal membership of the Chippewa of the Thames First Nation.” Their grandfather is full blood Ojibwe. Their grandmother was Mexican and great-grandfather was a famous bullfighter in Mexico city. Their father spent his summers growing up on the reservation. Their mother is of European decent. Their heritage is important to them.

According to the LoveCollide website, the sisters say, “We are very proud of our Native heritage and used to fancy dance at powwows when we were young. Our Native cousins all sing, drum, and dance the powwow circuit, and our Mexican cousins danced in Mexican folkloric companies. Our family reunions consist of almost every color of the rainbow. Being so multi-cultural ourselves has developed our love and interest for every culture and country.”
