FCAC’s May “3rd Friday with The Artist” Event to Feature Linda Wade

Join the Franklin County Arts Council (FCAC) on Friday, May 17, 2019, 6-8pm, for  the monthly “3rd Friday with The Artist” event. The May featured Artist will be Linda (Dumas) Wade — the 2018 Franklin County Artist of the Year.

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Wade now resides in Zebulon in Franklin County. Linda studied commercial art in Dayton, Ohio at Lost Wax Casting and Sculpturing and Riverbend Art Center and learned her silversmith technique from Artist Michael Smith. Her art includes sculptures, paintings, quilting, and one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces.

Linda teaches children’s art classes and published Promote Arts in Education coloring and learning workbooks. She is a member of the American Folk-Art Society, the Blues Society, and African American Quilt Circle of Durham.  Linda’s Blues Collection of art is based on Blues Music Awareness. She is also a member of the Franklin County Arts Council Diversity Team partnering with the Louisburg Senior Center as the artist instructor for the monthly Sip and Paint class.

Linda is the curator of Mustee Folk Art; an African/Native American Heritage Art and promotes her Mustee Folk Art at local events including the annual African American Cultural Festival in Raleigh. NC.

Come for 3rd Friday with The Artist, meet this local artist, and view Wade’s works. This event will be held in the Franklin County Arts Council’s Gallery on Main, 118-B North Main Street, Louisburg, NC.  Linda’s Art will be on display and for sale beginning Friday, May 17, 2019 and continuing through Friday, June 7, 2019.
