Rocky Mount, NC: Railroad Museum’s Annual Event & Reception is Jan. 22

The annual Rocky Mount Railroad Museum Membership Drive and Reception is scheduled for Saturday, January 22, 2022, 2pm, at the Braswell Memorial Library in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. This annual event will include a special presentation, museum update, and light hors d’oeuvre. Museum members, guests, and those interested in becoming members are welcome to attend.

The Guest Speaker is Mr. Anthony C. Hagans, who began his railroad career in 1974 with SCL as a laborer. He has served in various yard master positions and in its United Transportation Union. Mr. Hagans retired from CSX railroad in 2015.

RSVP by contacting Joyce Edwards Dantzler by phone at 252-314-7811 or via email no later than Friday, January 7, 2022.  Your reservations will be used to arrange reception food, membership handouts, and seating within the library’s meeting rooms, so be sure to confirm by the deadline. There is no fee to attend. Museum membership is $25 per year.

Braswell Memorial Library is located at 727 N Grace Street, Rocky Mount, NC. The Membership Drive and Reception will take place in the Warner and Riley Rooms on the ground floor of the library. Note that masks are required to be worn during this event unless eating/drinking, and worn in library public areas.

The Rocky Mount Railroad Museum is located in the Helen P. Gay Historic Train Station in the city of Rocky Mount. Note that museum tours are expected to resume by summer 2022. For more information on the museum and the annual membership drive, visit rmrailroad.org.
