Roots music powerhouse, Sideline, is coming to the Rudy Theatre’s stage as part of its Bluegrass First Friday Night series.

Sideline is a pedigreed six-piece ensemble whose style has set the pace in Bluegrass for over two decades. Band members are:

  • Steve Dilling, banjo
  • Skip Cherryholmes, guitar
  • Jason Moore, bass
  • Bailey Coe, guitar
  • Troy Boone, mandolin
  • Daniel Greeson, fiddle

This is the band’s first time playing at the Rudy Theatre and they are excited about coming to Selma, North Carolina. Their guitar player, Coe, is from Johnston County and went to South Johnston High School, before heading off to UNC.

Bluegrass First Friday Night with Sideline is Friday, February 1, 2019, starting at 7pm. The Rudy Theatre is located at 300 N Raiford Street, Selma, NC.

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased by calling the Rudy Theatre Box Office at 919.202.9927, or buying online via this vendini link.

Sideline just celebrated their 5th anniversary in December, although Steve Dilling is a long-time, legendary player on the bluegrass scene. His reputation on the banjo is highlighted with stints in the Lonesome River Band, the original Bass Mountain Boys, and 20+ years in IIIrd Tyme Out. Sideline will play more than 120 dates this year across the United States.

In 2018, the band collaborated on the album, Come See About Me, produced by Bluegrass Hall of Famer Doyle Lawson and released on Mountain Home Music, with proceeds set to benefit the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Bluegrass Trust Fund.
