The Main Event Band to Perform at First Friday

The Main Event Band will highlight First Friday’s return to the Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences on February 1, 2019, 6-9pm.

Known as a party band that performs R&B, Soul, Beach, Country and Funk music, The Main Event Band, who have been regulars during the Downtown Live! series, will perform in the main lobby of the Imperial Centre during a night full of family-friendly options.

Activities include free admission to the brand new “Be the Astronaut” exhibit, a planetarium and laser show, gallery sketching, art exhibitions, and more.

Krispy Kreme will provide free hot chocolate while supplies last.

Eric Ghiloni will provide live music, and No Shame Open Mic will take place 7:30-9pm in the theater, giving vocalists, poets, dancers, and others an opportunity to perform on stage.

Steve Gryb, the “Pied Piper of Percussion” from Miami, Florida will present “The Percussion Petting Zoo” — a hands-on, interactive, musical activity filled with hundreds of unique percussion instruments from around the world.

Said Recreation Superintendent Joel Dunn:

“First Friday is a great way for families to come out enjoy the night at the Imperial Centre. A variety of activities are offered that promises to entertain everyone.”

First Friday is held on the first Friday of every month from October through May.
