One of the most inspiring and influential choreographers in dance is bringing his latest stage presentation to the Theatre at the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences. John Alston’s “The Seasons” will be performed by the New York Theatre Ballet (NYTB) on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. The evening will begin with a reception at 6pm, followed by a performance at 6:30pm.
Said Sheila Long, recreation services supervisor at the Imperial Centre:
“The New York Theatre Ballet is touring our region and will make Rocky Mount a stop along the way. We are excited to share that on May 9, over 550 local students will have the opportunity to see this wonderful performance and participate in a question and answer session with professional ballet dancers. We close out the day with an evening performance for the community. We are excited to bring this unique opportunity to our citizens and celebrate the performing arts.”
For 39 years, NYTB has produced, for adult and family audiences, dozens of classic masterpieces and contemporary ballets. The visual images “The Seasons” evokes, in conjunction with music by the incomparable John Cage, will transport audience members through each of the four seasons.
