Celebrity Chef Rome Leaves a Lasting Impression on Guests at First Father’s Day Brunch

The first Father’s Day Jazz Brunch held at Rocky Mount Event Center went above and beyond the expectations of the community of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The event sold out with over 250 tickets sold.

The Edgecombe Banquet Room was decorated with a massive flower center piece in the middle of the room and small floral arrangements on each table from local The Secret Garden II florist located in downtown Rocky Mount.

As the guests entered the room, they were escorted to their designated, reserved table. Saxophonist Geno Marriott and his band with bass guitar, keyboard and drums, filled the room with smooth jazz, gospel, and modern music.

Vickie Sessoms Oxendine, guest of the event and resident of Rocky Mount said,

“WOW! This was an outstanding experience. My Dad really enjoyed having Geno and his band play live music while enjoying brunch while I celebrated him.”

Chef Rome raised bar with his outstanding menu for the event. The buffet was continuosly filled with decadent items such as shrimp and grits, lobster pasta with shrimp and sausage, collards with smoked turkey, macaroni and cheese,  ribs, fried chicken, fried fish, cabbages, roasted potatoes. In addition, there was a fruit display, endless desserts, bottomless mimosas with flavored options and so much more. On one side of the room there was even an omelette station set up with multiple add-ins and a carving station that included lamb and roast was on the opposite side of the room. Sessoms added,

“The experience was awesome – Chef Rome outdid himself. The food, desserts and drinks kept coming. It was an overflow of love for Father’s Day. We will definitely be back next year.”

Rocky Mount Event Center is looking forward to the next brunch event for Father’s Day in 2020.
