Book tells how one young girl creates a positive change in a tense situation at the neighborhood playground
Dr. Tiffany D. Tyson’s entire life has been very productive in creating fair opportunities for women. Her focus has always been to empower preteen and teenage girls by giving them physical and psychological training so that they also can achieve their dreams faster. This objective also led her to write “Patti Fix-it: A Series of Children’s Books” published by and available from Author House (paperback and e-book).
This first story in a series, “Book I: Billy the Bully” tells the story of Patti’s amazing gift to make people feel better when she fixes their problems. Here, readers will see how she creates a positive change in a tense situation at the neighborhood playground started by a boy everyone considers as a bully. Dr. Tyson says:
“This is a multicultural picture book that is a perfect story for youth who may be dealing with the pressures of being bullied and the impact is has on their self-esteem. The book touches on empowerment, encouragement, bravery and confidence and proves that is okay to be different and it is not okay to just stand by on the sidelines and watch others being bullied. You have to get involved through words and actions.”
When asked what she wants readers to take away from her writing of the book, Tyson replies:
“Children can display bravery when faced with adversities in life. Tweens and teens can resolve their issues through communicating with one another instead of fighting. Tweens and teens can become leaders in their communities and schools. Children do not have to face being bullied alone because all it takes is one person to stand up for what is right and then others will follow.
“This series begins to assist parents and teachers to start conversations about difficult topics that tweens and teens face from bullying, obesity, and anxiety and school shootings. Reading can be a creative art that also provides healing. It also emphasized the importance of beginning healthy eating habits at an early age as well as it is ok to be different and to be yourself.”
The “Patti Fix-it: A Series of Children’s Books” by Dr. Tiffany D. Tyson are also available via Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Note that the Kindle e-book is only $0.99 until November 2, 2019.
