Share the Love this Valentine’s Day With a Valentine from the Nation’s Sweetheart City

The Loveland Chamber of Commerce and Visit Loveland unveiled the official 2019 Loveland, Colorado valentine card and cachet (the seal stamped over postage).

Known as the nation’s Sweetheart City for its history sending love across the nation, Loveland continues its honored Valentine Re-Mailing Program tradition which has expanded to offer events, attractions and more.

This year, 2019, is the 73rd year of the valentine re-mailing program, the largest program of its kind. The city receives valentines from all 50 US states and 110 countries. A group of 50 volunteers hand-stamps the cachet and cancellation on each of approximately 100,000 valentines mailed through Loveland.

The 2019 cachet stamp was designed by Corry McDowell. It includes the following verse written by Marjean Carpenter: “The heart of Loveland is joyfully sent to you. Let love be remembered in all that you do.”

To see the card and cachet designs, visit www.loveland.org/programs/valentine-re-mailing-program.

To get this special cachet message on your own valentine card envelopes, send pre-addressed, pre-stamped valentines (cards or postcards) in an enclosed, larger First Class envelope. Then send that envelope to:

Postmaster – Attention Valentines
446 E 29th Street
Loveland, CO 80538-9998.

Once received, valentines will be removed from the larger envelope and stamped before being remailed to its intended recipient. Mail needs to be received in Loveland by the following deadlines to ensure receipt by Valentine’s Day.

  • International mail: February 1, 2019
  • US mail: February 7, 2019
  • Colorado mail: February 9, 2019

The Loveland Chamber of Commerce also produces an annual Valentine’s Day card. The 2019 card was designed by Larry Starck and depicts the rich history and culture of the sweetheart city. The valentine card verse, written by Jeani Bork, is: “The City of Loveland is known for its art. Grander than that is its tag ‘Sweetheart’. Hugs and kisses are being sent your way. From our city, with love, on this Valentine’s Day.”

Valentine cards may be purchased online for $5 via the Chamber, at the chamber office, the Loveland Visitors Center, and other local retailers.
