Area Chambers of Commerce, business groups, and local businesses/organizations hold educational events and provide free business training and networking.

Note that regular Chamber member meetings or semi-closed leads groups, are not included. Check with, or join, your local Chamber to find out more about regular meetings near your business.

Tuesday Morning Coffee Break

Join the Business Alliance of NC for a cup of coffee, conversation, and networking. Scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, 2017, 8-10am, at Lorraine’s Coffee House, 101 Timber Pointe Lane, Garner NC. Build referral relationships and brainstorm with other businesses/entrepreneurs. This is a free-flowing networking event.

Business After Hours with Red Cross

Join the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce for this event on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, 5:30-7pm. Gather at the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences, 270 Gay Street, Rocky Mount NC and learn more about the history of the Red Cross in North Carolina and Rocky Mount. Red Cross volunteers will be on-hand to discuss volunteering, hosting emergency preparedness resources for businesses and employees, and more. Appetizers will be provided, and raffles and door prizes are planned.

Small Business Tax Essentials

Scheduled for Thursday, July 27, 2017,  6:30-8:30pm, at East Regional Library, 946 Steeple Square Court, Knightdale NC. This free seminar is jointly sponsored by the Wake County Public Library and SCORE.   Registration required; to register, click here.

Rhonda High from the North Carolina Department of Revenue will cover the basics of tax compliance ranging from registering your business, to withholding from employees, and sales and use tax requirements. Information will be provided on a program for businesses that have fallen behind on sales and use, withholding, and other trust taxes.

First Friday Coffee

Join the Nashville NC Chamber of Commerce on Friday, August 4, 2017, 7:30-8:30am, and have a cup of coffee and network with local Chamber members and area residents. This event recurs on the first Friday of most months. Gather at the Nashville Exchange, W Washington Street, Nashville NC. A sponsoring business covers the coffee costs at each event. Twin-Counties Education and Business Leaders’ Summit

Strategic Twin-Counties Educational Partnership (STEP) along with area educational partners will host this Summit on Thursday, August 10, 2017, 8-9:30am. ​ Tickets are $15.
