Events for December 2018 planned for East Regional Library, located at 946 Steeple Square Court, Knightdale, North Carolina, are listed below.

In addition to the event times, the library is open:

Friday  10am-6pm
Saturday  10am-6pm
Sunday  1-5pm

The library will be closed December 24-26, 2018.

ABC Craft and Learn: A Kindergarten Readiness Program

Saturdays @ 11:30am

Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to participate in an interactive alphabet-based program to nurture pre-reading skills and to develop fine motor skills through writing, play, and an alphabet craft.

 

Ready, Set, School Community Playdate

Saturday, December 15, 2018 @ 11:30am-1:30pm

Join Marbles Kids Museum at the library for family play to support kids ages 3-5 in getting ready for school.

 

Books with Brian featuring See Spot Read

Tuesday, December 4, 2018 @ 6:30- 7:30pm

Children in grades K-5 and their families are invited to join us for literacy activities. Come practice your reading skills with the certified therapy dogs of the local Meetup group See Spot Read.  Readers of all levels welcome. No registration required.

School age children and their families are invited to create a holiday cookie house using graham crackers, icing and treats. All materials will be provided. Space is limited. Registration recommended.

Holiday Film Series

Friday, December 14, 2018 @ 4-5:30pm

Enjoy a holiday-themed movie at the library. The Muppet Christmas Carol is The Muppets’ version of the Dickens holiday classic about a miser who’s visited by three ghosts. The movie features Kermit the Frog as the penny-pincher’s hardworking and loyal employee. (Rated G 85 minute run time)

 

Discover Your World Family Movies @ The Library

Sunday, December 16, 2018 @ 2pm

Create your own lego creation while we watch Wonder, a New York Times bestselling book made into a movie. Join us for an incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story, August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, in a mainstream elementary school for the first time.  Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite his family, his new classmates, and the larger community and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out. (Rated PG Run time 1 hour 53 minutes)
