
Easter Sunday this year is April 16, 2017. Towns, parks and recreation departments, and community groups are holding egg hunts around Eastern NC starting in late March.
While some events are Easter-oriented, others are listed as non-religious “egg hunts” offered by government offices.
Pictures With The Easter Bunny (March 31, 2017 @ 4-6pm) — Zebulon NC
Bring canned food to donate, and Kent Massey Photography will be on hand to give you a free 4 X 6 photo from Kent Massey Photography when you bring a canned food item to be donated. Photos will be taken on Friday. Pictures will take place at the Zebulon Community Center, 301 S Arendell Avenue, Zebulon NC.
Easter Egg Hunt (April 1, 2017 @ 10am) — Zebulon NC
Grab a basket and meet on the front lawn of the Zebulon Municipal Complex, 1003 N Arendell Avenue, Zebulon NC, for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. This year’s hunt will take place on Saturday. Be sure to bring a basket with each child.
Easter Eggstravaganza (April 1, 2017 @ noon-2pm) — Wendell NC
Held at the Kids Educational Center, 7421 Siemens Road, Wendell NC. This is their second-annual Easter Eggstravaganza and Egg Hunt and includes the Easter Bunny, carnival games, inflatables, food vendors, and more. Free admission. Egg hunts available for children ages 1-12 years old.
Paws in the Park Easter Egg Hunt (April 8, 2017 @ 9:30am) — Knightdale NC
The 2017 Paws in the Park event will be held on Saturday. This event is free and no pre-registration is required. The first 125 dogs will receive a Frisbee & Goody Bag. Every Egg will be filled with treats and those who find the “Golden Eggs” will receive prizes. The Easter Bunny will be available for photo opportunities.
For this event, dogs must be on a leash, non-aggressive, and have an up-to-date rabies tag or certificate.

Easter Eggstraordinaire (April 8, 2017 @ 10am-12:30pm) — Knightdale NC
The Knightdale Easter Eggstraordinaire is the Saturday before Good Friday each year. The 2017 event will be held on. We offer 3 Easter Egg Hunts for ages 0-3, 4-5, and 6-8. The hunt begins at 11am sharp. Hunt for eggs, take photos with the Easter Bunny, grab a snack and enjoy music and activities. The egg hunts will be located in the grassy areas at the Knightdale Station Park Amphitheater.
East Wake Community Church will be running an area for children with special needs. This will be located under the First Avenue shelter and will include an Easter Egg Hunt (at 11am), activities, and more.
Radiant Church will be giving out 1,500 free hot dogs.

Paws in the Park (April 8, 2017 @ 11am-2pm) — Rocky Mount NC
The 7th Annual Paws in the Park is set and scheduled. This year’s event includes new games, vendors, entertainment, and possibly eggs. Bring family and fur kids out to enjoy and afternoon. Held at Best Friends Dog Park, 480 N Lee Street, Rocky Mount NC. See more at here.

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, with the first age group hunting at 10am; might be good to arrive early. Egg Hunt (April 8, 2017 @ 10am) — Rolesville NC
Come join this free annual Egg Hunt on the football field at Rolesville Middle School, 4700 Burlington Mills Road, Rolesville NC. Bring cameras to take pictures with the bunny and a basket to gather eggs. The hunt will be divided into three age groups; 0-3 years old, 4-7 years old, and 8-10 years old. Trade in collected eggs for prizes at the pop-up tents. There will be a grand prize for each age group. There will be prizes for those with allergies.
Eggstravaganza (April 8, 2017 @ 10am-12:30pm) — Garner NC
New Egg Hunt times this year. Join the fun at Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner NC, on Saturday. Each age group will start hunting for eggs and candy at a different time, so early arrival is needed. Ages 2 and under begin at 10:30am; ages 3-5 start at 11am; ages 6-8 begin at 11:30am; and ages 9-12 at noon.
In addition to the egg hunts, there’s entertainment, games, crafts, food vendors and more. Be sure to bring your camera to this free family event and get your picture with the Easter Bunny. The Great Egg Scramble (April 8, 2017 @ 11am) — Selma NC
Free Saturday event by the Selma Parks and Recreation Department, held at Selma Middle School, 1533 US-301, in Selma NC (Johnston County). Bring an egg basket and join the hunt for eggs. Several age groups will hunt for eggs left behind by “Peter Cotton Tail.” Prizes will be awarded in each age division for children who find the “special” eggs. Parents are not to help children search for eggs.
Peter Cotton Tail will be available for photos with children, so bring a camera. In case of inclement weather, the morning of the event it may be moved inside the school’s gym.
Eggstravaganza! (April 8, 2017 @ 10-11am) — Scotland Neck NC
