NC Industrial Hemp Commission Next Public Meeting (Conference Call/Online) is Mar. 6

North Carolina’s Industrial Hemp Commission has scheduled its next public meeting. As with previous meetings, the public may join via telephone conference call or online meeting link.

The purpose of this Tuesday, March 6, 2018 meeting is to review and approve research pilot program applications. Meeting will start at 11:30am, and those wishing to participate may call in or join the meeting in advance.

Access to the conference call can be made at http://go.ncsu.edu/industrialhemp or by calling 1.669.900.6833 (US toll) or 1.646.558.8656 (US toll). The meeting ID is “800-639-459”. Participants will be prompted to enter their name and email address to enter the meeting via the website, or prompted for a unique participant ID for the call. They should press # to access the call.

The NC General Assembly passed Senate Bill 313 in 2015, allowing the creation of the Industrial Hemp Commission to develop the rules and licensing structure necessary to stay within federal laws. The Industrial Hemp Commission adopted temporary rules in February, setting up the application requirements and process.

The first official growing season was 2017. Pilot Project growers are entering the second growing season in 2018.
