Christmas on the Hill

Stop by the FCAC Gallery on the Hill for the Holiday Open House, and shop local!  Finish your Christmas shopping early during this special event December 2-5, 2021.

The Gallery has many works of Art, handmade gifts, and books by local authors for your holiday shopping. Hours for Christmas on the Hill are:

  • Thursday, December 2, 2021: noon-4pm
  • Friday, December 3: noon-7pm
  • Saturday, December 4: 11am-3pm
  • Sunday, December 5: 1-5pm

The Gallery on the Hill is located at 99 S Bickett Blvd, Louisburg, NC — up the hill behind the Franklin County Ag. Extension complex.

Launch Party

Celebrate release of the FCAC Writers’ Guild’s annual publication, County Lines: A Literary Journal. Scheduled for  Sunday, December 5, 2021, starting at 1pm, at the Franklinton Lions Club, 205 S Chavis Street, Franklinton, NC, and is free to attend.

Come and listen to local writers and poets reading from the 9th-annual volume of prize-winning and specially selected art and writings.

 

Bluegrass Jam Session

Listen to live music at the FCAC monthly jam session, held on the second Wednesday of the month, which will be Wednesday, December 8, 2021, 7-9pm.

The Bluegrass Jam Session is hosted by Tar Banks Brewing Company, 108 N Main Street, Louisburg, NC.

No registration is required. There is no fee to attend; food and drink will be available for purchase from the host restaurant.

 

Mini Writers’ Guild Meeting (all are welcome)

Join the Writers’ Guild at this “5th Wednesday” free, outdoor gathering — warm fire planned — and discuss writing, the arts council, the gorgeous outdoor setting, and plans for the coming new year. Members and nonmembers welcome to this event on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, starting at 10am. Bring your own lunch, snacks, and beverages.

The meeting may wrap up around noon or so — the park will be open for hours for walking/recreation following the meeting.

The group will meet at Shelter #23 in Beaverdam Lake Day Use Area, a part of the Falls Lake State Recreation Area. Follow this link (PDF) for a map with the Writers’ Guild meeting address (14600 Creedmoor Road, Wake Forest, NC) and GPS information.

Parking is available a short walk from the shelter, which is near the water. Restrooms are nearby, and are likely to be open during the day. Park fee of $7 may be collected at the entrance gates, depending on Park season.
