Several upcoming events, organized by the town of Garner, North Carolina’s Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, are listed below along with informational posters.

Friday Flicks

Enjoy a free, family-friendly movie outdoors at Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner NC. The next Friday Flicks is May 25, 2018, 8:30pm, and is open to the public. Bring a picnic dinner or purchase from the light concessions available on-site.

Additional movie dates are June 8 and June 22, 2018. See poster below for movie titles.

Those interested in (optional) camping overnight in Lake Benson Park may stay for a small per-family fee of $12 to $16 (camping pre-registration is required). Only one adult needs to register.

Picnic with Professionals

Meet at the Holly Shelter, Wednesdays at 11am, with a picnic lunch. Eat and visit with local heroes and their flashy vehicles. Dates include:

  • June 6, 2018 — Garner Police Department
  • June 13, 2018 — Garner Public Works
  • June 20, 2018 — WakeMed
  • June 27, 2018 — Garner Fire-Rescue

Memorial Day

This is a day of remembrance for those who died while serving in the US armed forces. Join this Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 28, 2018, 1:30pm, at the Garner Veterans Memorial, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner NC.

Basketball Clinic

The town is also offering a free basketball clinic on Saturday, May 12, 2018, for those interested in playing in the local youth leagues. Held at the Avery Street Recreation Center, 125 Avery Street, Garner NC.
