Local voices will fill the Imperial Centre with the sounds of Christmas on Friday, December 4, 2020, 6pm, during An Imperial Centre Christmas celebration. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event will take place virtually, but will give the community a chance to hear their favorite seasonal songs from the voices of local talent.
The show will be an homage to the 1970s and 1980s Christmas specials of well-known acts such as Andy Williams and Sonny & Cher. For the second straight year, the Imperial Centre is partnering with World Tabernacle Church, which will have musical and dance artists featured in the performance.
The Tar River Children’s Chorus, along with director Patsy Gilliland, will also be featured.
The performance will incorporate Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Solstice, and other holiday celebrations.
Said Artistic and Managing Director Brooke Edwards: “This will truly be a community holiday celebration. We believe it is going to be a really special show, and we invite the public to enjoy the celebration utilizing our livestream capabilities.”
