Trick-or-Treat and Trunk-or-Treat Events around the Five-County Area

North Carolina towns and cities offer trick-or-treating options around town. Many parents feel a higher level of safety by taking their children to organized trick-or-treat and trunk-or-treat events. Here’s a round-up of a few of the places where children may gather treats at organized events.

Note that for a few events, advance registration is required as noted below. Event may be free, but knowing how many people/children to expect allows the organizers to better plan food and treat needs for an event.

Also noted below, some events provide free food alongside the treats. Free food/meal may be just for kids, or for the whole family. Links provided to event organizers, and questions may be directed to them.

Nashville NC “Fall Fest” and Movie*

Friday, October 26, 2018 @ 4-5:30pm + movie at dusk*

The fun is happening at the HD Cooley Library, 114 W Church Street, Nashville NC, with this event. Enjoy games, trick-or-treating, a pet adoption event, and more. Zebulon NC “Trunk or Treat”

The town Parks and Rec organizes the trick-or-treating alongside music, fun, and free “walking tacos” by Chef Victor. Costumes welcome. Join this celebration at the Zebulon Community Center, 301 S Arendell Avenue, Zebulon NC. See more on the Town of Zebulon Parks/Rec web page.

Wendell NC “Treat Trail”

Friday, October 26, 2018 @ 5-8pm

Each year, this event gathers area businesses to hand out (thousands) of treats as young, costumed children walk the trail. This free-to-visit Treat Trail runs through the Wendell park located by the Wendell Community Center, 601 W 3rd Street, Wendell NC. Costumes should be non-scary, and children should be 12 years old or younger, and accompanied by a parent/guardian. The kids pick up treats, while the adults can meet local business owners and converse about the community. This event draws many trick-or-treaters, but the outdoor setting makes for a nice walk in the woods even while moving in line. Participating businesses plan accordingly, with lots and lots of goodies to treat the crowd. See the official notice on the Town of Wendell website. In case of rain, this event may be moved indoors.

Goldsboro NC “Thriller Night”

Friday, October 26, 2018 @ 5-8pm*

This event offers both trunk-or-treat and trick-or-treat in downtown. There will also be kids activities, vendors, a costume contest, food trucks, family activities, and a Thriller dance performance at 7pm. This is a free event, with registration requested through ticket link on the Facebook event. Free swag bags available for registrants. Address given is 130 N Center Street, Goldsboro NC.

Knightdale NC “Trunk or Treat” and Movie (RESCHEDULED)

Friday, October 26, 2018 @ 5:30-7pm*

Bring the kids for free trunk-or-treating and fun at Knightdale Station Park, 810 N First Avenue, Knightdale NC. Wear costumes (optional). Local businesses will be decorating their vehicles and handing out candy from their trunks as children come by. Business information will be available for adults. Rolesville Chamber “Trunk or Treat”*

The Rolesville Chamber  of Commerce and Laster Orthodontics present this free, fourth-annual Trunk or Treat event, with local businesses/organizations handing out candy from decorated vehicles. Fun event organized by Smithfield Parks and Recreation, and held in the Inclusion playground at Smithfield Community Park, 600 E Booker Dairy Road, Smithfield NC.
