Wilson County Public Library offers programs for at the Main Library in Wilson, North Carolina, its five branch libraries, plus Bookmobile access.

Wilson County Public Library engages the community and enhances the minds of all ages with programs, lectures, classes, and entertainment. Main Library hours are 9am-9pm Monday through Wednesday, and 9am-6pm Thursday through Saturday. Branch hours vary. All locations are closed on Sundays.

The Wilson County Public Library Teen Advisory Board (TAB) gives teens the opportunity to share ideas and plan programs and services offered to their peers by the library. Members of TAB attend monthly meetings and assist in at least one teen program each school year. Participation may count toward school and National Honor Society service hours! Ice House Entrepreneurship Program

The Ice House Entrepreneurship Program is designed to inspire and engage participants in the fundamental aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset as an essential life skill. The program draws upon eight fundamental concepts of entrepreneurial thought and process derived from the companion text, Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur. Each lesson contains video case studies featuring a variety of real-world “unlikely” entrepreneurs who have overcome challenges by embracing the core concepts of an entrepreneurial mindset. This Main Library program also provides for experiential learning through the process of identifying problems, finding solutions, and making connections beyond the classroom.

Fulfilling a Need: Wilson County Negro Library, 1943-1964

The Wilson County Negro Library was founded in 1943 and played a vital role in the African American Community for over twenty years. In 1964, the Negro Library became a branch of the Wilson County Library System as the East Branch Library, now located on Ward Blvd.

Wilson County Genealogical Society meeting
Tuesday, February 25, 2020 @ 7pm
Did you know that approximately 200,000 black soldiers served in the Civil War Union Army between 1862 and 1865? Among them, fourteen of these soldiers received the Congressional Medal of Honor. Local historian Jerilyn Lee will share facts and stories about the United States Colored Troops. This presentation, Main Library Assembly Room, will include over 100 pictures and artifacts of Black soldiers, sailors and officers who served during the Civil War. All are welcome. - February 5, 2020: Excel Basics — Prerequisite: Basic computer skills are required. Learn how Microsoft Excel’s cells, worksheets, and workbooks easily allow users to manipulate, calculate, and format numbers and other types of data.
- February 12, 2020: Charts and Graphs — Prerequisite: Attendance at Excel Basics or equivalent experience. Learn how to add visual interest and tell stories by displaying numbers and data sets in chart or graph format.
- February 19, 2020: Formulas and Functions — Prerequisite: Attendance at Charts and Graphs or equivalent experience. Learn how to use formulas to automatically calculate and manipulate totals, percentages, averages and ranges.
- February 26, 2020: Working with Tables — Prerequisite: Attendance at Formulas and Functions or equivalent experience. Learn how to create tables and pivot tables, sort and filter data, work with large spreadsheets, and more.
