As problems are accumulating of our own making, humans are pushing rapidly towards a number of possible catastrophes like:  a World War III — complete with atomic bombs and biological weapons, or collapse of biodiversity, or sudden catastrophic reversals of the weather as a result of unrelenting global warming already upon us (and never mind the dwindling number of ideological deniers). All these events are capable of setting humanity into another dark age lasting hundreds — or even thousands — of years, or even resulting to our total extinction as a species.

New and parallel to all these, confronting humanity’s problems, some humans are developing — blissfully and rapidly — new trends which promote, and even may ensure, our survival.

As a result of the increasing number of participating individuals to new knowledge and relative fertile ground, creative individuals — numbering in the thousands worldwide — are emerging on the level of the abilities of Leonardo DaVinci, who was a multi-faceted super genius of the fifteenth century in Florence. These individuals among us include a remarkable self-made man named Elon Musk (and there are hundreds of them now-a-days as apposed to one per century previously). Musk literally is preparing single-handedly, with astonishing rapidity, a new future for humanity. He is harnessing the renewable energy from wind and solar panels on a global scale, storing it in super-batteries of his own making in massive scale, and then using the stored energy for the electric needs of households and electric cars — both of which, besides being affordable, use clean electrical energy. Additionally, electric cars’ batteries may serve as a collective community storage of unused energy to be accessed as needed at night.

In addition, Musk is preparing to create devices attached to the human brain to augment our intelligence; thus being prepared to defend ourselves from another looming possible catastrophe in humanity, specifically the creation of artificial intelligence (A.I.) — which actually is already in the making. These A.I. devices will be devoid of feelings or conscience and thus may decide “rationally” to destroy humanity, their own creators, as unneeded.

Furthermore, the same super-genius is preparing actual credible devices to colonize Mars or other habitable heavenly bodies, thus ensuring humanity will not become totally extinct if catastrophe becomes a reality in our own planet. This super-genius, commanding our respect and gratitude — as invariably is the case for such gifted individuals — is being tormented by his own self-confessed emotional up-and-downs is commanding our respect and affection.

Similar super-geniuses are busy to confront an unspoken looming problem for humanity regarding global warming:  that is the urgent need not only to refrain from adding CO2 to the atmosphere as we are trying to do now, but to find ways to harvest the existing CO2 in the atmosphere. Without later successful effort, the diminishing of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere will be in vain.
