Activity books are a great way to encourage reading and learning. BigFoot activity books are especially beloved by parents, as they are at once educational and fun. The latest BigFoot activity book, released just this month, sends BigFoot on a big-city adventure.
Written and illustrated by D.L. Miller, BigFoot seek and find books star the legendary BigFoot as he travels the world. In BigFoot Goes On Big City Adventures, available starting in April 2019 from Happy Fox Books, young readers are challenged to hunt for him on each colorful spread, learning fun facts along the way.
Miller is an illustrator, author, woodcarver, and nature lover who grew up in the Appalachians of Western Maryland. As a child, stories of BigFoot always piqued his curiosity and made his explorations in the wooded mountainside all the more interesting. Miller combined his interests by capturing the elusiveness of BigFoot in his illustrated seek-and-find children’s books.
Miller chose BigFoot as the star of his books because it seemed like a natural fit and a fun play-on idea with the legendary creature. But he wanted his books to be educational also — given the sharp decline in reading for pleasure among children. Miller wanted to help foster a love of reading and learning.
