The 2019 Franklin County Arts Council’s 3rd Friday with the Artist series kicks off on April 12, 2019, 6-8pm, with local artist Diana Johnson at the Gallery On Main located at 118-B North Main Street, Louisburg, North Carolina.
Note that this series event is happening a week early, on April 12th, due to the Easter holiday, and will return to the third Friday in May.
About the Artist: Diana Johnson
Diana started drawing and painting as a young child. Nine years ago, after retiring from a 20-year career as a graphic artist, she moved to North Carolina from Florida with her two beagles looking for a change.
Her love for animals has always been an inspiration for her artwork. After much prompting from friends she started doing commissioned pet portraits which she loves to draw in graphite pencil. She feels the black and white depth of graphite captures the soul of her subject.
Her second love is nature. Inspired by the shapes, colors and smells of the great outdoors she draws and paints trees, landscapes, flowers and wildlife.
Johnson’s drawing, paintings, and note cards will be on display and for sale at the Gallery On Main April 11-May 3, 2019.
