Compiled by Kay Whatley, Editor

It’s time for the Easter story and egg hunting for kids. Hunts planned for the five-county area (and beyond) are included below. Where available, a link has been provided to the organizer or event. Check with the organizers for any event questions, or to check for schedule changes.

For most of the hunts, parents are cautioned to let their children hunt on their own — no adult help in finding eggs.  Guarantees are not given for egg-finding. Children should bring a basket with them for collecting eggs, as most organizers do not provide these.

Note that Easter Sunday is April 21, 2019. For the most part, the events below are in advance of Easter Sunday.

Are we missing a public Easter-oriented event or egg hunt? Let the editor know.

UPDATE: The Knightdale and Zebulon egg hunts have been rescheduled. Other hunts may be postponed or canceled. Check with the organizers using the links provided or by contacting them directly.
