The 2016 Film on the Rocks series opens May 23, 2016, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison CO. The series presents eight films this summer, with each film is preceded by a live concert and local Comedy Works comedian.

Presented by the Denver Film Socity, the 17th season of Film on the Rocks (FOTR) kicks off May 23, 2016, with a Grease sing-a-long. Presented by Pepsi, the FOTR series includes eight films:

  • May 23, 2016:  Grease – sing-a-long with Lissie + Megan Burtt & the Cure For Love
  • May 30, 2016 (Memorial Day):  The Big Lebowski – with Anthony Ruptak and The Midnight Friends + The River Arkansas
  • June 15, 2016:  Citizen Kane – in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the dedication of Red Rocks Amphitheatre
  • June 20, 2016:  Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – with Strawberry Runners + The Baltic
  • July 11, 2016:  The Sandlot – with Special Guests + Brent Cowles
  • July 25, 2016:  Labyrinth – with School of Rock – A Tribute to Bowie
  • August 23, 2016:  Deadpool – with The Blue Rider
  • September 6, 2016:  Star Wars: The Force Awakens

This year marks the 30th anniversary of a FOTR fan favorite, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, on June 20, 2016.

For each film, the doors open at 6:30pm, the band begins around 7pm, and the movie starts 8:30pm or 9pm.

General Admission tickets for each film are $15.

For each show, guests can choose the VIP experience by selecting the “Party Bus” or “Trading Post Pre-Party.” The Party Bus VIP experience starts at Blake Street Tavern, includes food, drinks provided by New Belgium Brewing and a ride with Bus to Show to and from the venue. The Trading Post Pre-Party VIP option includes catering by Steuben’s Food Truck, drinks provided by Miller Coors and activities by Play Mile High. Both VIP ticket options include preferred seating in the amphitheatre. VIP Peak Experience Packages are $47-65.
